UTM Visitor Centre
Students are given a site by our own workbase master. This visitor centre is located near a river. The visitor center is used to inform the visitor every information related to University of Technology Malaysia.

ISSUES
People seldom interact with the site context due to no proper function running at the site. Besides, the shallow slopping area at the site has the possibility to cause flood during heavy rain.

Minimalist design preserve the calmness of the site.
Rectangular span. Orientation of the building respond to the sun path. Shading devices are applied on the facade facing the sun. The larger side surface facing to scenery view.
Circulation set follows the existing road and pedestrian pathway to reduce deformation of nature.
Subtraction of building for stack effect to enhance ventilation and having from the building.
Axis from the focus point towards the existing tree behind the building to enhance the concept and lead visitors to interact with the existing big tree and the river.
Zoning of space set based on the direction of facade facing.
